FAQs

When do Raffle tickets go on sale?
Million Dollar Raffle tickets will go on sale May 4 at all Washington's Lottery retail locations. Please note that Washington's Lottery does not sell tickets for any of its games —including the Raffle—over the Internet.

What kind of a game is the Raffle, and how do I buy a ticket?
The Million Dollar Raffle is a draw game, meaning the winning numbers are drawn at a designated day and time by computer. Other Washington's Lottery draw games include Lotto, Hit 5, Mega Millions, The Daily Game, and Daily Keno. Players may purchase Raffle tickets by stopping by the Lottery counter at any Washington's Lottery retailer. Raffle tickets will not be available for purchase in Lottery vending machines.

How much money is up for grabs, and how many people are going to win?
Three winning Raffle ticket numbers will be drawn on June 26 or within five days of sell out, and each of those tickets will be worth $1 million. In addition, four ticket numbers will be drawn as $100,000 winners and 350 tickets will be drawn as $1,000 winners.

How will prizes be paid?
Raffle prizes will be paid in one payment, less federal income tax, and must be claimed within 180 days of the drawing.

How many Raffle tickets will be sold?
There are only 375,000 Raffle tickets available, so players shouldn't wait to purchase one. Once they're sold out, they're gone for good!

What are the odds of winning?
Odds of winning one of the three $1 million prizes are 1:125,000. Overall odds of winning any prize in the Raffle game are 1:1050. Odds of winning instant on-the-spot $20 cash are 1:20.

How much do the Raffle tickets cost, and where can I buy one?
Each Raffle ticket may be purchased for $20 at any Washington's Lottery retailer. Please note that Washington's Lottery does not sell tickets for any of its games—including the Raffle—over the Internet.

How will I know if my Raffle ticket is a winner?
Each Raffle ticket will be marked clearly with a number between 1 and 375,000. There is only one number on each ticket, so if you purchase five tickets, you will receive five separate paper tickets.

How will the winning tickets be announced?
On June 26 or within five days of sell out, a drawing will be held to determine the winners of the $1 million, $100,000 and $1,000 prizes. All winning numbers will be available on walottery.com after 9 p.m.

How will I know if there are any tickets left?
Visit walottery.com to track the number of tickets available, which will be updated daily. Also, Lottery retailers will receive notice once tickets are sold out, so if you aren't sure whether there are tickets left for purchase, ask one of them.

My lucky number is 11. Can I choose to buy Raffle ticket #11?
Unfortunately, no. Since only one person can have any given numbered Raffle ticket, it is not possible for players to select their own numbers for this game. Additionally, since tickets will be sold statewide, it would be impossible for retailers to determine availability of individual Raffle ticket numbers at the time of purchase.

How many Raffle tickets can I buy?
As with any other Washington's Lottery game, each player may purchase as many Raffle tickets as he/she chooses. However, Washington's Lottery strongly encourages customers to play responsibly.

What do I do if I have a winning Raffle ticket?
If you find out after the drawing that you have a winning ticket, congratulations! Raffle ticket winners are advised to:

  1. Sign the back of your Raffle ticket;
  2. Keep it in a cool, safe, dry place.
  3. Call your local Washington's Lottery regional office (available at walottery.com) to schedule an appointment to claim your prize!

Do I have to be 18 to play?
Yes, as with all Washington's Lottery games, you must be 18 or older to play the Raffle game.

Where can I find more information on the Raffle game?
