"I’M FEELING A LITTLE FUNNY TODAY”
Raffle Winner Calls Boss After Discovering He’s a Millionaire
29-Year-Old Legal Assistant from Marysville is First Raffle Winner to Step Forward
OLYMPIA — When Hans Stampfli called into work Friday morning, he told his boss he was, “Feeling a little funny today.” And with good reason. The 29-year-old legal assistant from Marysville was the first to step forward to claim one of the three million-dollar prizes in Washington’s Lottery’s latest Raffle game. Stampfli bought his winning ticket - 001857 - at the Safeway at 1258 State Avenue in Marysville.
Stampfli was at his mother’s house down the street when the winning numbers were revealed. He walked home to grab a few things and decided to check his ticket. When he checked the numbers, at first he didn’t believe it. “My mom’s house is within walking distance, but I ran back! I had my mom and sister come out to check the numbers. I was so amazed. I haven’t ever really won something big.” Stampfli’s win makes him Washington’s Lottery’s 583rd millionaire. Stampfli plans to use his winnings to pay off his house and student loans and enjoy being “debt free” at a young age.
The two remaining million-dollar Raffle tickets have yet to be claimed. Those winning numbers are:
103710 - sold at Tracyton Market, 5010 May Street NW in Bremerton
061103 - sold at Sami’s Shell, 10801 NE 68th Street in Kirkland
Players with a winning Lottery ticket need to sign the back of the ticket, store it in a cool, dry, safe place and call a Lottery office to make an appointment to claim their prize.
